Boston 1941

This is a photograph of the American Humane Education Society (AHES) booth at the National Education Association Convention held in Boston in 1941. Stacks of pamphlets, brochures, and other publications are piled on the tables with the promise that “a free copy of any of this literature will be sent to anyone leaving name and address.” Winning entries from poster competitions held by the Massachusetts Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (MSPCA) are displayed along the back of the booth, while the front of the exhibit space is adorned with posters designed specifically for Be Kind To Animals Week® by the artist Morgan Dennis.
